Design Description: 

This indexing mechanism combines an epicyclical gear and a cam. A planetary wheel and cam are fixed relative to one another; the carries is rotated at uniform speed around the fixed wheel. The index arm has a no uniform dwell periods. This type of mechanism can be used in speed counters.
