Design Description:
This is a simple ball latch used from a kitchen cabinet to a Frigate Radar on a board ship. This works with the principle of a compression spring returning the ball latch into the groove. The groove is generally cut to a spherical profile to facilitate the motion of the ball latch. By changing the spring constant the same latch can be used for a variety of applications.
